About Marc

Marc is one of the firm’s Partners.  He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for his practice in Municipal Law, Financial and Restructuring Law and Environmental Law.
 
Marc has a significant municipal law practice and is solicitor to several Nova Scotia municipalities.  He also acts for banks, receivers and other stakeholders in insolvency and restructuring matters throughout Atlantic Canada.  Drawing on his background as a Professional Engineer and former environmental consultant, Marc represents clients in all things environmental including complex contaminated sites litigation.

Marc is a former chair of the municipal and environmental law sections of the Nova Scotia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, a past chair of The Clean Nova Scotia Foundation and taught business and environmental law at the Schulich School of Law for many years. He currently teaches law to engineering students at Dalhousie University and teaches the law component of the Engineers Canada National Professional Practice Exam Workshop.  Marc is a co-author of the leading text on climate change law in Canada, The Law of Climate Change in Canada (Canada Law Book, 2010).
