Brian is a member of our Corporate, Commercial, Bankruptcy / Insolvency, and Wills & Estates services areas.
Brian specializes in advising lenders on a variety of banking matters, including the negotiation and drafting of loan agreements, security documentation, and realization procedures. For the past 25 years, he has served as advisor to a major chartered bank on both a regional division and branch basis. Brian also acts for numerous other corporate clients, with particular emphasis on acquisitions and sales.
Brian has been repeatedly recommended by LEXPERT® as a lawyer in Banking and Financing matters, and is listed by Lawday Real Time Law as among the 90 leading lawyers in Canada in the area of Banking and Finance.
On a Personal Note
Brian currently serves as a Commissioner for Nova Scotia Legal Aid. He is past Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Halifax Grammar School, and has served as Treasurer of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party and on the Finance Committee of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society. The former president of Ashburn Golf Club, he has been a member of various fundraising committees for organizations such as the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Grace Maternity Hospital.
