Practice Profile
Selina is a member of our Litigation services group practising in the areas of Insurance, Construction, Bankruptcy/Insolvency, Municipal and Sport. She also provides advice to clients in matters relating to Labour and Employment specifically as a certified Workplace Investigator.
Representative Experience
Selina enjoys a varied practice and works hard to ensure her clients’ interests are well represented.
As a member of our Litigation group, Selina focuses on insurance defence, specifically construction related matters. She represents insurers in matters involving home and auto, commercial and professional liability insurance. Selina also regularly represents creditors in secured and unsecured debt recovery and enforcement efforts.
Selina’s involvement in our Labour and Employment group focuses on Workplace Investigations. As a Certified Workplace Investigator, Selina is frequently retained by large and small employers to conduct independent investigations. She has also received orientation and training to work specifically with sport organizations. When an outside, impartial perspective is required to bring clarity to a situation and address issues such as harassment or discrimination in the workplace, clients rely on Selina to ask the right questions, uncover the pertinent information and reach a reasoned conclusion.
In every area of her practice, Selina approaches issues strategically and strives to provide her clients with the best possible service.
On A Personal Note
Selina serves our community as a volunteer with Out of the Cold, an emergency winter shelter program in Halifax. She has also volunteered at the CIBC Run for the Cure and is a past member of the Veith House Board of Directors in North End Halifax. She is currently Chair of the Canadian Bar Association – Nova Scotia Branch, Charities and Not-for-Profit Law section.
